  Chrysler Museum of Art
The Chrysler Museum is located near downtown Norfolk and overlooks the Hague Inlet of the Elizabeth River. Founded in 1939 as the Norfolk Museum of Arts and Science, the Museum was presented the art collection by Walter P. Chrysler, Jr. Chrysler Museum houses a collection of nearly 40,000 objects which includes an impressive and comprehensive survey of European and American painting and sculpture, a world-renowned Tiffany glass collection, Art Nouveau furniture, as well as art from Africa, Asia, Egypt, Pre-Columbia and Islam.
