The Virginia Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYSO) at the New Colony Theater
This NEW venue located in Olde Towne Portsmouth, has a distinguished and eclectic history. It was formerly a YMCA, built in 1854, serving as a Vaudeville theater, an Armed Forces hospital (at the end of WWI), a movie theater (as the 'Colony Theater'), a boxing rink, a nightclub and a dinner theater. Currently, will serve as a fine arts music venue, which will host performances from the award-winning Virginia Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYSO) and the world renowned Millennium Symphony. It will feature a concert program with a tradition of world-renewed and local artists' performances.
